I read constantly and always have at least one book on the go, but if I am finding myself setting a book down or losing interest it gets deleted from my kindle right away. That being said, I quite enjoyed this book. I like to take a chance on new authors for a fresh outlook perspective. As a first time novelist I think Chris MacKinnon has done a bang up job of character development and “hook” to keep me interested.
His characters are extremely relatable, I think all of us have felt like Dusty Shoeman at some point (or frequently) in our lives. The plot within a plot was interesting, I wanted to see how Janet fared out and what this new innovative therapy consisted of. Very imaginative, to say the least.
I would definitely read another of this author’s books written from Dusty’s point of view, I think he can really develop this eclectic family into long lasting serial characters.
